How to Stay Motivated and Inspired

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Who doesn't need some more motivation and inspiration these days?! I know that I'm craving spring, sunshine and warmer weather over here! I always feel more motivated each spring too for some reason, do you feel the same? I hope these tips help you jump back on track with your goals for the year! Thanks for being here friend :)

Tip #1- Invest in Your Health

Put a few more dollars each month toward healthy groceries, fitness classes, therapy sessions, meditation apps... Find something that makes you feel good and invest in it! When we are happy and healthy, it's simply easier to get things done! We have more energy and motivation when we feel good and when our bodies and minds are taken care of. For instance, when you get sick you're more likely to nap and watch Netflix all week rather than go after your goals. Our bodies need rest to recover so this is perfectly okay! I have slow, relaxing days all of the time because I need them to unwind and take care of myself. Don't feel bad about taking a break, just remember that when you nurture your physical and mental health you will be on your way to feeling motivated and inspired. Take your vitamins (especially vitamin D in the winter time), rest, hydrate, and move your body to invest in your health!

Tip #2- Do Something You Love

Set aside some time for yourself to do your favorite activity. This doesn't have to be everyday or even every week if you have a demanding schedule. But, make sure you put yourself first sometimes and do something you love. You may like to read, draw, sing, run, dance, or craft. Allow yourself the freedom to enjoy the little things in life and feel content knowing you got to have a great day doing what you love! Overall, doing things you love puts you in a better mood and helps take care of your needs.

Tip #3- Small Acts of Kindness

I encourage you to go out of your way and do something nice today! We all could use a bit more practice in this area, myself included. Be thoughtful and kind to family, friends, and strangers. Do good simply because you want to do good and don't expect anything in return. Giving out of the kindness of your heart will raise your frequency. I'm currently reading You are a badass by Jen Sincero and in this book she talks about how raising your frequency will attract things with a like frequency. Basically, good attracts good so if you are doing good and feeling good, all of your goals will align and you'll surround yourself with good people and good opportunities that will help you succeed.

Tip #4- Learn From Others

Inspiration is all around us! Get inspired by your community, learn from others' mistakes, gather valuable information from who is successful. You can learn from your family, friends, neighbors, teachers, books, news, celebrities, Pinterest and nature! See how you can share the same message, but in your own words with your own experiences. No one else has your voice or your story and you can always add something to a conversation. Do not copy others' work or pass it off as your own, instead portray something using your perspective and stay true to you. I love pinning creative ideas that inspire projects I'm working on. If you're looking to grow your monthly viewers on Pinterest to help your small business, side hustle, or blog check out this post or this video for more tips!

Tip #5- Find Your Flow

When a new idea comes to mind, find your flow and just start! You always have the most momentum and energy when you're first excited about something, so don't sit on it. I like to grab a notebook and write down everything that's running through my mind at that moment. If you fall into an unmotivated funk, you can pull out your notes and read through all of the details about your idea to reignite the fire and get excited again! This is something I do all of the time and writing details about a project I may be considering helps me clarify what I really want to pursue and how to do so. Finding your flow is all about being present in the moment and letting your creativity run wild.
